Call StatisticsThe CHILDLINE service is available to children over 469 districts across 35 States / UT’s in India, through a well – integrated network over 889 partner organizations. CHILDLINE 1098 initiates dialogue with children in need of care and protection and acts as a tool for change in the Child Protection arena. CIF not only plays the role of listening to the voice of the child, but also plays the role of strengthening, molding and filling the gaps of existing National Child Protection Mechanisms.

During April to December 2018, CHILDLINE received a total 7,352,245 calls from children and concerned adults. The tabulation for the same appears below:

Highlights:

  • Protection from abuse is category which got highest number of Intervention cases which is more than 1/3rd of total intervention of CHILDLINE. South zone has received highest number of protection from cases (42%) followed by North (23%), East (21%) and West (14%).
  • Missing & Other intervention are the second largest intervention with 15% each followed by Restoration and Emotional support & guidance 8% each, Medical and Shelter 7% each.
  • South zone is the major contributor to the total intervention calls of CHIDLINE with 34% followed by North & East zone 25% & 24% each and West 17%.
  • Out of total 73, 52,245 calls received by CHILDLINE during April – December 2018, North zone has received most number of calls i.e. 35% of total calls, followed by East 23%, West 22% and South 20%.
  • East zone has most number of cities/District (133) where CHILDLINE is functional followed by North (121), South (115) and West (100).
