“CHILDLINE kiska
CHILDLINE mera, CHILDLINE tumhara
CHILDLINE hum sub ka”
“Whose CHILDLINE is it?
Yours, mine
Ours”
This is not just a slogan thundered by a hundred young voices at
every meeting, picnic, party or encounter with street children.
It is a philosophy that we at CHILDLINE live by; a philosophy
that paves way for partnerships, networks and linkages. A
philosophy that constantly reaffirms that CHILDLINE belongs to
everyone and not just to the organizations that constitute it or
to the partners who fund it or to the Government that supports
it.
We at CHILDLINE believe that for a helpline to be successful and
effective in reaching out to the millions of children deprived
of their childhood, we need to work in a partnership framework.
A framework that recognizes that:
- a helpline cannot operate in isolation
- all partners involved in the helpline share a reciprocal
relationship
- each partner has clearly defined roles in the partnership
model. This leads to a feeling of joint
ownership towards the
model.
- All partners share the vision, mission and the successes of
the model.
Our key partners who make our existence possible and meaningful
include children, voluntary organisations , Government, and the
corporate sector. Each has their own set of powers and
responsibilities vis-à-vis society in general, and the community
of children in particular. At CHILDLINE, we bring them together
in aid of the child.
