Below is data concerning the status of children in India in all states and union territories. The indicators in the table are as follows:

  • Percentage of children's whose birth has been registered from a population of children under 5
  • Male, female and total Infant Mortality Rate (as per 1000 live births)
  • Percentage of children who were breastfed within first hour from the population of children under 3
  • Percentage of children exclusively breastfed between the ages of 0-6 months
  • Percentage of children fully immunized (BCG, measles, and 3 doses each of polio/DPT)
  • Nutritional Status of Children.
  • Stunted: the below optimal height a child is for his/her age
  • Wasted: the below optimal weight a child is for his/her given height
  • Underweight: the below optimal weight a child is for his/her
  • Drop out rate of boys, girls and total between classes I-X
  • Percentage of single teacher schools
  • Percentage of schools with girls toilets
  • Number of working children in the 5-14 age group
