Mumbai CHILDLINE Team Review, May 2008
Mumbai CHILDLINE team had their annual review at Alibaug from
May 5th-7th, 2008. There were 31 team members from partners CCDT
CL, Hamara Foundation CL collab and support, Aasara CL, Yuva
CL and CHILDLINE Intervention Unit (CIU).
The first day, all partners presented activities of held in
the month of April 2008 and shared highlights of their achievements,
successes, challenges etc. This session was followed by case
presentations where all the partners presented two challenging
cases in which the intervened the previous year. The rest of
the team gave feedback on the cases as well as filled gaps.
On day two the teams prepared action plans for the coming year
and presented them. They also made issue based action plans on
Child Beggary, Child Labour and Sexual Abuse. In the next session
they brainstormed on innovative outreach strategies that could
be used to conduct outreach in the coming year. This session
was thoroughly enjoyed as team members enacted their innovative
ideas such as a Radio Awareness Campaign on Radio Mirchi, a Street
Play as well as a Bal Mela where innovative games were played
to make children aware of 1098 as well as a live phone booth
that spoke to children and taught them how to dial 1098.
The last day was spent sight seeing in Alibaug. Team members
went by Bus and then by ferry to take a tour of the Murud Janjeera
Fort. They then had delicious seafood followed by a visit to
the Birla temple. The team enjoyed themselves and was thoroughly
rejuvenated.
