Delhi Marathon 2008
The Airtel Delhi Marathon, was held on the 9th of November 2008 at the Central Sports Grounds of the Central Civil Services at Nehru Park.
The marathon gives the city of Delhi a platform to come together for a common cause. Running for a cause has become one of the most successful ways to raise money from friends and family and this year saw a record number of nearly 65 NGOs who registered for the event.
On the race day once the elite athletes were flagged off on their Half Marathon run there were nearly 28000 people who hit the roads. They participated in the Half Marathon, The Great Delhi Run, The Senior Citizen Run and the Wheelchair Event. There were runners in costumes and T-shirts wearing colourful wigs and waving flags and banners.
CHILDLINE this year had the support of three corporate teams, Sanofi Aventis, The Park Hotels Delhi and Bank of America. All of them participated with gusto wearing the CHILDLINE T shirts and caps and waving banners supporting CHILDLINE.

This year we had the support of two Dream Runners Ms.Preet Dhupar and Mr.Ashley Menezes who participated enthusiastically in the Great Delhi Run.

We also had our CIF team who carried our banner and sang the 1098 song along the race route.
