Children join hands to spread message against child labour

CHILDLINE India Foundation - Campaigns - Say No To Child Labour - Stories across India  - Puducherry

Nearly 200 Children from Samugam home, IRDC Baby Sarah's home, Anbalayam home and students from Nursing and Cooperative College participated in the rally against child labour and expressed their solidarity towards elimination of child labour. Organised by CHILDLINE Pondicherry, the participants raised slogans against employing children.

'Child labour should be eradicated without delay'

The rally was flagged off by Rajavelu, Minister for Welfare, Puducherry, in the presence of Mr. Lakshminarayanan, M.L.A., Mrs. Shanthi, Assistant Director, Social Welfare Department, Mrs. Vidya Ramkumar, Chairperson, Child Welfare Committee, and Mr. Karthikeyan, Secretary, Baby Sarah's Home.

Mr. P Rajavelu urged NGOs, government agencies and volunteers present on the occasion to ensure eradication of child labour through their proactive initiatives. The rally proceeded from Gandhi statue and ended at Bharathi park.
