CHILDLINE Coimbatore to create better awareness among public by putting up flex boards at vantage points with a message, toll free number and website address. "If you find a child subjected to abuse, trafficking and beggary and in need of help, call the CHILDLINE toll free number 1098 24X7", is the message CHILDLINE Coimbatore will plan to send to all its residents. And it has planned to put up flex boards at vantage points in the city and also affix stickers on public transport and Government school textbooks, spreading the message in the regional language, Tamil.
The Stickers carrying the message and also a website address (which parents whose children have gone missing can access) have been affixed on the rear side of nearly 700 city buses. There are plans to have another 2,000 such stickers pasted on mofussil buses as well as auto rickshaws.
CHILDLINE Coimbatore has urged P. Umanath, Collector to provide a two-wheeler at the booths to ensure that the person manning the booth will be able to go and meet the child immediately from the location from where it has been reported.
